25 Muslim & Christian couples tie the knot at congregational marriages ceremony

“The omniscient bestow the newlyweds with best of His bounties & blessings on the path of their marriage journey. The real message of Islam is to bring change in human life. It is the ideology of Minhaj Welfare Foundation, while supporting, to keep self-respect of beneficiaries on priority”.

This was stated by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri while addressing the mega event of congregational marriages arranged by Minhaj Welfare Foundation. Where 25 couples were tied in the knot matrimony. Out of which two were Christian and twenty three were Muslim couples.

He further added, “This is on record that Minhaj since it commencement in 35 years didn’t have a single penny from any donor agency and government for religious, political and welfare commitments”.

The mass marriage ceremony was also addressed by former President AJ&K Sardar Ateeq Ahmad Khan, senior politician Syeda Abida Hussain, Vice President of Al-Azhar University-Egypt Dr. Muhammad Mahmood Ahmad Hashim, Head-Higher Education Commission-Egypt Dr. Muhammad Nasr Al-Dasuqi Lebanon, Amir e Tehreek Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, Mr. Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Abrar-ul-Haq-Famous Singer, Father James Channan, Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Dewan, Haji Amin-ul-Qadri, Haji Arshad Javed, Mr. Dawood Hussain Mash’hadi-MD MWF and Syed Amjad Ali Shah-Director MWF.

The ceremony was also graced by Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, MPA Saadia Sohail Rana, Brig. Iqbal Ahmad, Dr. Naeem Mushtaq-Project Director Aghosh Complex, Miss Rabia Ali-Director Marketing MUL, Mr. Shahid Nafees-Director Student Affairs MUL and Amna Bukhari-Film Producer.

The Nikah of the Muslim couples were solemnized by Syed Farhat Hussain Shah, Allama Usman Sialvi, Ghulam Murtaza Alvi, and Allama Muhammad Hussain Azad, whereas Fr. James Channan performed the marital rituals of the Christian couples.

Mr. Dawood Mash'hadi-MD Minhaj Welfare Foundation, gave a briefing on the humanitarian work of the Foundation across the world. He listed out the projects being implemented to serve the humanity irrespective of any discrimination.

Syed Amjad Shah highlighted the projects of MWF in Pakistan. He mentioned that 104 mass marriage ceremonies have been held so far. Therein, about 1200 couples were wed locked, and 2400 families are directly supported. He said that Sialkot chapter of Aghosh is already initiated and Karachi chapters of Orphan Care Home ‘Aghosh’ will be started in near future. He further mentioned that MWF is working on water projects in interior Sindh, Baluchistan and drought affected areas like Tharparkar. Through these projects thousands of families are supported by MWF.

At collective marriages each bridal was gifted with dowry of worth Rs. 18000/- each consisting of the basic necessities of house hold use. All the baraties were greeted with a red carpet reception on the beat of the drum duly welcomed by Markazi Quaideen of Minhaj-ul-Quran. The bridals were also provided beautician facility. All guests and baraties were served with lunch. All the couples were seen off with prayers and best of wishes.
